To acquire, preserve and protect our sacred lands.
The Native American Land Conservancy has been working since 1998 with a clear mission to acquire, preserve, and protect sacred lands. This work is rooted in a strong commitment to ensuring that these places remain in Native hands and are actively cared for over time.
Since its founding, NALC has helped protect nearly 5,000 acres of land. Each acre represents a step toward safeguarding culturally important places while also supporting native ecosystems and wildlife. This is not just about holding land, but about long term stewardship and responsible care.
NALC continues to focus on acquiring additional lands that are at risk, making sure they are protected before they are lost to development or other pressures. This effort extends both on and off reservation, recognizing that important sites exist across many different landscapes and require coordinated protection.
Through land acquisition, stewardship, and ongoing care, NALC is building a future where more sacred lands are protected, restored, and maintained for continued use.
